Frequent straight to desktop crash multiple times in the span of two hours

Hi, ever since yesterday I have been experiencing multiple crashes constantly, especially during Crucible runs. Just two hours ago, my game crashed as I was fighting Echo Knight phase 2 which ruined my progress. I also have noticed that it tends to crash when I’m using ice abilities. I’m playing with my partner but only I am the one that is constantly crashing even though we both use ice abilities. Here are the links to the crash logs and the dxdiag file.

Don’t know if they will get back to you on this or can read the file, but I can’t read those.

I can peek at a dxdiag file though if you post that, but my guess is that’s just the server being extra sensitive. I’ve only crashed a half dozen times, but I’m also solo, so for being solo that’s kind of a surprising number.

Yeah it seems the crash logs are encrypted but I just added the dxdiag file below the first link if you wanna look. I didn’t have much crashes before until yesterday and now it’s constantly every hour.

AMD drivers are recentish, might want to check if there’s an update on that. Drivers and Support for Processors and Graphics

Odd… looks like it’s showing different driver versions for the built-in and graphics chip. Hopefully the site can auto scan and update them if they are behind.

I do see an M at the end of that GPU, so be sure your laptop isn’t flat on a surface so it can cool/breathe. It’s possible it’s overheating and dropping because of that. You may want to monitor temps. If you don’t have a cooling pad, even just propping up the back with a small book, or I used a Jenga block back in the day for one of my systems that was having issues with cooling.

It looks like there are some memory overflow issues. This might be something with the game, but it might indicate an issue with your system ram. Though that would likely be something you’d notice playing any game, so if you play other games and it’s fine it’s probably just the current Wicked build not playing well with your system.

It does look like there are some Logitech G Hub issues in the crash section. You might want to check if it needs an update, or if you can shut the program down while playing Wicked and see if that helps. (I don’t think it’s required that it stays running in the background, so should be safe to shut down.)

Thank you for the report and logs Martin_Jrsen! The ice abilities triggering problems is interesting, I’ve added it to the escalation message.

Thanks I just updated the drivers last week but I will check again. My laptop temps are fine I’m using a cooling pad right now but I will monitor the temps just in case something is too hot. As for ram, I suspect the game might have some memory leak issues as it crashes after a certain amount of time every time, I play other games on my laptop just fine without issues. With all that being, this is an experimental branch so crashes are expected, I just wanted to post it so if there are real issues they can fix them. Thanks again for your help!

Yeah, highest chance it’s just the build and your system. I’ve been in EA ever since they started it back in the day and only had 1-2 crashes for my entire playtime per build. This build is way more unstable in comparison. I’d say I probably have the game poof crash (just stops and disappears from the background) anywhere between 0 times per play session (about 2-4 hrs) and once as many as like 6x.

On the good side restarting and having it link to the local client I’ve picked up right where I was each time.
