Could you please verify your files in your Steam Library for NRFTW?
If that doens’t work, navigate to the .exe in Steam\steamapps\common\NoRestForTheWicked, right click the NoRestForTheWicked.exe and run as administrator.
Can you report back here if this does or does not work?

I’m having the same error. I tried your suggestion and it didn’t work. I also tried disabling my antivirus before starting the game, but I get the same error.

Actually this problem occurred with a member of our Brazilian community Wicked Discord, He said he solved it but every time he needs to open the game, he has to run it as administrator.

Can you boot up Steam with administrator rights and then see if you can get in-game?
(if you haven’t, definitely try again first normally, after hotfix 5)
