Deeper sleeping mechanics

Right now, sleeping doesn’t make time pass faster. That’s not realistic — it should affect the current world time.

However, it could let the player cheat while waiting for daytime, in order to meet the unique loot trader (I forgot his name). That means sleeping should be limited by a cooldown, so the player can’t abuse this mechanic — after all, a person can’t sleep that much in reality.

By the way, you could make it more interesting and let the player sleep one more time in a row if needed, but a significant debuff should be applied as a penalty.

In the early days of Minecraft i played like this:
At the start of a new game, before i got a bed, if i weren’t equipped to fight hordes of creepers and skeletons then i were forced to sit idle inside dirt shelters for 10 minutes waiting for dawn, or go exploring underground.

In no rest for the wicked i dont really see the point of passing time through sleeping in a bed.

That is only true if you are in a state of sleeping?

There’s a slight difference between sleeping, resting and a power nap

Why laying in bed in wicked feels more like a reference to “a power nap”

= because of the short durational buff/boost

*-Unless theres something that “allows” for it to happen.
