When taking damage and going beyond X%, could you add a visual indicator on the screen so we know to heal up ?
Perhaps make the edges of the screen go red?
Sometimes when looking up at the healthbar, that moments delay is all it takes to die.

I was writing a suggestion for exactly the same thing. Having some warning when low on health, like the screen borders turning red would help with a few avoidable deaths.
NO PLEASE, no “red screen” It is utterly annoying! It is the WORST thing a game can add!.
You don’t need to look at the HP bar, you have the HP ring on your character. You can look at that.
