it’s not the loot that’s the problem but the mechanics of the items they’ve introduced.. basically right now you just need any purple outfit, roll the right affixes and max them out. unless you want to try 20 builds to pass the time the game with this system really has little to offer
Plague at maximum level - besides being more entertaining to play on the latest two maps - will overflow your gear inventory frequently. And those 2 maps will usually give you fully upgraded gear.
So unless you want useless legendaries, I wouldn’t bother with Crucible.
Crucible for now is like completely pointless to bother with, unless you want something specific from the longneck guy.
I have made three fully exalted chars with different playstyles and they all steamrolled crucible after finishing the overworld content. It is the last challenge you attempt after killing every pestilence 4 boss. The loot is really good, basically the only reliable source for legendaries. And the aquired legendaries spark new character ideas. It makes perfect sense as a gameplay progression loop.
Your argument is literally saying that there’s a loot problem…
+1 to this. This is a game not a job and if spend my time on it and get no rewards because I got pushed over a cliff from an enemy that couldn’t be seen then it is just a bad gameplay loop.
I don’t even engage with Crucible anymore because the scaling got too harsh after my character got past level 20. Now, at Lv30, I feel weaker than before.
no it’s different…the game gives you the loot to do everything and also in a short time compared to other games..it’s the affix mechanics that are wrong that make the game easy and less long-lasting. I’ve already done all the content of the game, technically I could even stop playing. the mechanics pre-crucible patch from last August were clearly better (even if for the most part they didn’t work).
I think you got the wrong type of game then.. I’m not saying it has to be a job but this type of game usually requires a certain number of hours to reach a certain level.. and this game in particular, if you know what you have to do, requires very few.
You are literally saying the same thing as my initial point I don’t get it.
I do disagree with the part that you say the mechanics pre-crucible were better if you are referring to enchantments. The enchantments didn’t work most of the time so how can that be better?
I also don’t 100% remember them but I know that the current ones aren’t very interesting or dynamic which I think we both agree.
So yeah I don’t see how my original point is any different to what you’re saying, we are both saying that the enchantments are not very good. You say “wrong” but I assume you mean not very good or interesting or fun right?
yes so I had the same problem, I’m close to lvl 30 so the crucible unlocked some new enemies I hadn’t seen before. After trying it a few times I got frustrated. But I came back next day a bit more fresh and really focused on it and I managed to get much further than before, just by playing at the top of my level. The conclusion: I don’t like having to focus that much for that long. One boss fight is fine, but having to play consistently well for every stage for over an hour… it’s a bit exhausting. I did it, but don’t want to do it ever again! XD
I agree with you too. I think working hard for something in game and getting it is much more rewarding than just getting it too easy. But the progress of the grinding can be made smoother or more fun, if you “fail forward” like in dungeons and dragons. “You failed this time, but hey, here you have a small reward for putting these real life hours into hour game.”
You need over ONE HOUR for a crucible run??? what in the actual f…Did you not update your weapon? Is your damage stat below 30?
Thanks mate! I would not have expected such leveling speed with crucible. Found a low level Fetid Club and it is a blast.
have a good one
You’re just kidding. If you don’t like it, don’t play. Why suffer in the final challenge at early lvl?
U came in underwear and without a weapon and u want to kill everyone and get a lot of loot. What’s wrong with you?
They even explained to you that in an hour in the crucible you can gain lvl 20, which I completely agree with, there is too much experience.
you misunderstand the mechanics of character progression, if you have a lvl 100 character without investing in equipment, it doesn’t make sense. maybe it’s time to think about upgrading your equipment? it helped me, the difference between lvl 11, where I couldn’t break through most enemies, and lvl 16, where the crucible is easy. you even can become immortal in the crucible, the main thing is not to test it on falls
I don’t see where the problem is with the loot.. I have found and find all the objects in the game: weapons, armor, gems (I have so many that I don’t know what to do with them), crafting materials (which I don’t use because I already have what I need at maximum level), 300+ embers, food at will (which I practically don’t use since with life steal I only need one hit to have maximum life)…
so the problem is not the loot because if you know what to do and know how to play you can find everything.. it’s the mechanics of the game and the objects that are wrong.
in this update I just need to find a single base of a purple weapon and modify it to be ok.. before I had to find it and hope that it had the right affixes (even if they didn’t work) so I was much more interested in playing to find them and therefore in that aspect the game was clearly better
I think you may have misunderstood my point.
I’m not talking about crafting materials I’m talking about Gear that you wear and changes your playstyle or gives you interesting things to play with. Loot as in… you know one of the exciting reasons to play an ARPG.
Food, crafting materials all of that has good balanced drop rate, but I’m not talking about that,
It is a bit early to expect deep item build mechanics. They are creating the bassline of a game right now, not refining a finished product.
I wonder, would you also complain in conditional WoW that mythical raids are not completed immediately, as soon as people get there?
Consider that the crucible is raids from WoW. Only for one.
This is the final test, for those who know how to play and have good items.
At the same time, only 3-4 nodes, and you become almost immortal and have damage.
The only problem with the crucible is that the rooms are too easy, which only feel like a time filler before the boss.
Crucible level 5 needs a huge reward buff.
The vendor should resett at every run and also offer like atleast 5-10 embers.
Place three or more big chests in the room.
Crucible is a complete waste of time if you dont kill the boss.
that shouldnt be the case ever.
And if you beat the boss, the rewards arent great either.
except for the unique weapons, but mostly they are useless for you.
It just feels wrong to play it.
Like with all the other rewards in the game.
