I’m sure this is probably a known issue, but it looks like maybe when you are looking at crafting a thing, in some areas it might be showing max stats?
Here are two pictures. One is what the item looks like before being crafted, the other is the result after I crafted it. Quite a huge difference, and more importantly, the one I crafted is not at all better than what I had equipped.
Pre-crafted shows…
Post crafted became…
Edit: Oh, is the 97 for a tier 8 version? Hum. I assumed the stats I saw would be what I got. I guessssss it makes sense it’s a lot lower since it’s only tier 4? But that seems like a pretty massive jump to 8. That’s a like 3x improvement. If that is true, then the damage should be like the tiers and show the range. Like 24-97 or something. That way people would know the damage can vary and if it’s low then maybe try a re-craft/re-roll.
I guess I’ll try crafting a couple more and see if they drop at a higher tier? I don’t have a lot of resources though, and this was the FIRST thing I’ve crafted. (Only playing solo, but as you can see that’s up to level 16, probably 12-15 hours played?)
Edit Edit: Crafted 2 more, one landed at tier 7 (then the enchanter made it purple, which I’m never really happy with purple negatives), and one was the same tier 4 tier I have. And yes, the damage was higher with the higher level one.
Soooo… I guess technically this isn’t a bug, but the damage should definitely show the same possible range as the tier. So like 25-92 AND tier 3-8. (Or maybe just an * in place of damage if there isn’t enough UI room to show the range.) Even playing in the build where tiers were introduced it’s not intuitive that the thing you craft will have possibly lower damage.
Also, as maybe a bonus thing, maybe have an option to craft items with a new random Item Facet. Maybe for increased basic item costs? The special things you need are too rare. I burnt out all of my mats to make just these 3.
