Seems like the issue occurs if the function is bound to a mouse button. It could affect every function. I can confirm it affects Forward, Inventory, Offhand Use, Rune 1, Run, Dodge, Food, Quick Item. Parry too but R triggers it and not middle-mouse button.
I can confirm Walk to Mouse and Attack is unaffected though whether it’s bound to keys or other mouse buttons.
I also noticed that it only occurs after relaunching the game, not during the game session when the binding was changed.
Yes, your character will sprint towards the mouse position but it will slow down and even walk slowly if your mouse cursor is close to your character, which is super cool and deserves a medal. I use WASD outside combat scarcely.
It makes playing experience super cool. You do not need WASD outside combat at all. Believe me, it’s much easier to navigate your character with your mouse. It’s faster and twice easier traversing very narrow places. Try to learn it, it’s not difficult, but I’d recommend to bind sprint to a mouse button.
What do we have here: My current keybinds is what you can see in the second screenshot. What you see in the first screenshot is absolute nonsense which happens after launch. When I move with the character keybinds ‘reset’ to what you see in the second screenshot. And again mouse button 4-5 swapped
The bug of key rebinding has not been fixed. Every time I open the game, I need to manually rebind it. I’m tired of it. I hope it can be fixed as soon as possible. I really don’t like the default key position.
In the control scheme “Mouse and WASD”, the offhand use binding cannot be assigned to mouse side buttons. For example, by default, if you change “run” from “Space” to “Shift” and then reassign “offhand use” from “!” to a mouse side button, saving the settings and restarting the game will result in offhand use being triggered simultaneously when running.
My key settings for running, support weapon, and parry are different from default setting
When I try to run in my house, the game keeps asking me whether to remove chests, cause it doesn’t seem to change with that
Running-Lshift
Parrying-M4button
Support Weapom-Rbutton
Also, whenever I use 3rd rune skill, which is R in keyboard, my character parrys, even default the key isn’t to parry
And certain keys like ’ and capslock don’t work
I thought the issues will be fixed soon but surprisingly no one mension it or they are not fixed at all with patches
I keep kb/m bugs in this thread. But yea, the bugs aren’t exactly prioritized …
If you move out of wasd area, you basically have to use hardware-rebindable keyboard. I heavily recommend one (most gaming or programmers’ ones will do), not only for this game.
I have to update my keybinds everytime I load the game. It will show the correct binds however it doesnt function as so. Also the UI still shows different keys to what I have binded.
Hello! I’m really enjoying this game, and have found a few bugs I’d like to report. I’m not following the “Properly Reporting Bugs” method b/c it’s asking for too much in my opinion, but I will however type the issue in detail for you below:
Remapped Keybinds w/ Conflicts:
Control Scheme Used: Keyboard & Mouse - Mouse and WASD
Conflicting Keybinds 1
Keybinds - Run (Shift) and Offhand Use (Right Click)
Bug 1 - When using a shield offhand, you can’t run with Shift. It just blocks with the shield. Right Click still blocks correctly, and Toggle Walk/Run (Left Alt) works correctly as well.
Bug 2 - The same issue happens when I try to Run (Shift) near any furniture in my house. The game asks if I want to remove the furniture b/c for some reason my Shift key is confusing the game behavior of my Right Click.
Bug Occurance - Only after logging out and logging back in.
Workaround Bug 1 - Resetting keybinds everytime you log back in or play with 2-Handed Weapons. I choose the 2-Handed Weapons.
Workaround Bug 2 - Toggle Run while in my house.
Conflicting Keybinds 2
Keybinds - Run (Shift) and Walk to Mouse (`)
Bug - Holding Shift without directional keys (WASD) functions as Walk to Mouse (`)
Bug Occurance - Always On
Workaround - I don’t use Walk to Mouse, which is why I put it on `, but I haven’t found a workaround for Shift functioning like this, and wanted you to know.
Conflicting Keybinds 3
Keybinds - Utility (Q) and Quick Item (Mouse 5/Forward)
Bug - Pressing Utility (Q) uses my Quick Item.
Bug Occurance - Always On
Workaround - None at the moment, but since I don’t know what Utility is supposed to do, it’s a non-issue, haha!
Quick Item Bug:
Bug - Walking in and out of your house changes your Quick Item.
Bug Occurance - Only when furniture is in your inventory.
Workaround - None other than paying close attention before getting into combat… The amount of the wrong potions or bombs I’ve used b/c of this bug is frustrating to say the least.
I’ll try to pay attention to this thread if you need any further info, and you’re welcome to reach me on the Discord server if you’d like.
I am playing the experimental this weekend for my first playthrough. I am playing key board and mouse I while I know that you have controller in mind for the intended way to play, I love it on kbm.
The bug is that when you relaunch the game with custom keybinds, it has the default keybinds being used, even if in the settings it looks as though my keybinds are bound. I have to reset the keybinds to default, then rebind in order to use the custom keybinds.
as you can see, i configured main hand and off hand switching to F1 and F2.
However, it doesn’t get saved and reverts to "unassigned keys” every time.
And actually, i didn’t even want it to be F1 and F2 but (and here comes feedback) since Ctrl(or)Alt+Q and Ctrl(or)Alt+E isn’t allowed, i had to pick something a bit out of the way. Also, TAB isn’t allowed to be reconfigured either.
Suggestion: Allow modifier keys like Shift/Alt and Control as well as allowing EVERY key to be freely modified.
keys even if rebound, stays activating default actions. takes binding and rebinding to kick in
Q and E in menus do not work sometimes (randomly)
mouse cannot select items in inventory sometimes (randomly), may not work at all (requiring keys to move highlight/selector) or will skip some items and not highlight them
