major upvote to this lock features are a must in ARPGs/looters
Came here specifically to request the ability to lock items in inventory to prevent selling or enchating! +1
and you searched for it and found a post about it <3 you are the best!
There are two issues that stand out in terms of quality of life issues.
First, there needs to be some kind of “lock” or other protection on items to prevent players from accidently selling, or destroying (by things like rune removal). While it only happened once before, and once with the new Breach content since I hadn’t played in a year. I could see this being a pretty big issue for some.
Also, a ‘buy back’ option might be good for things that aren’t locked that you changed your mind on.
Second, I know that I would love a “compare” feature on items. Sure, showing if something has higher or lower values is good, but what if they are completely different items and they don’t really compare like that? Say you are looking at a chest armor piece and you are considering changing from one wight to the next. Obviously the armor, poise, and weight will be different. But what about the stats? Currently you can only see stats on the thing you are looking at, not the thing equipped. Maybe an item of a different weight that you don’t normally wear in that slot has stats which make it better for your playstyle. It seems like the UI has plenty of room to have an activatable side-by-side comparison when highlighting items to compare ‘item x’ to what is equipped. (I would guess weapons would compare to the currently readied set, not all potentially 3 in the slot.)
Would be great if we could be able to lock items in the inventory of all categories so we don’t accidently sell them etc
The title is self explanatory!
It’s too easy to accidentally sell items you would otherwise want to keep for whatever reason you have. Also being able to favourite your items so that they get placed at the top of your inventory would be great.
Anyone else accidentally selling gear they plan on using whenever you mass eject your trash onto a vendor?..Can’t be just me.
Edit: After typing this out I noticed “Y” isn’t assigned to anything inventory management related. It would be cool if we could press “Y” to favourite and hold “Y” to lock the item to protect it from being vendor etc.
I think you are right. Playing Khazan recently helped me realize just how important this feature is.
Yes we definitely need this
Make sure we can lock any type of item, and make them not be deposited into storage when using the “Deposit Similar” button.
Hey, just throwing a quick one,
an option to mark ur favorite gear and on contrast mark junk gear for quick sell and also to make sure you will always know which of ur gear should not be deleted by accident
i constantly get gear and try it on for fashion and always struggle getting my original gear back on, it would be a great add if i can see an icon above the gear i want equiped at all time ![]()
ty!
I would really appreciate this as well, being able to lock items is useful and could be used to keep those items at the top of your inventory.
I should not be allowed to extract rune from weapon I am using as that will destroy it - which is probably not what I want. Confirmation dialogue - sadly - does not stop people like me from doing it and loosing upgraded weapon with good affixes.
terraria has a system similar to this and it works great. it can be annoying when I have an inventory full of items that I just plan on selling since I dont need them and then I accidentally sell one item that I actually want to keep
I hijacked this thread to move them all together. makes it easier to track votes, and keeps it all in one place.
Buy back makes sense, but don’t you have to actually click twice to sell an item? Just maybe try to slow down a bit when selling stuff, I don’t see locking items as necessary.
Compare - I’m dumb. Didn’t notice that made it into the game. It’s not quite the form I’m used to from ‘traditional MMOs’ and other places, but it’s fine how it is. ![]()
nah you are not. i was thinking at first, but u can compare, but then i got what u meant. would be nice if you could see it like in other games with direct stat to stat numbers, and like in some games maybe even with base value comparison.
thats what i am missing from the current “compare”. if u compare a lvl 8 sword with an lvl 1 axe, of course the sword is better, but u never know if the investment would be worth it to upgrade the axe to lvl 8 as well.
Hum, good point there. I do have different level things and sometimes have to guess what the stats would be on equal level.
Though really with some things (especially weapons) you just can’t tell. You could say ‘well, convert everything to dps’, but even that doesn’t work because of the different animations. Like a lot of Axes, 1 or 2 hd, have a sort of ‘longer build up’ before attacking, I think hammers to, or a slight pause mid-combo. Those would be super hard to build into a compare. (My answer on testing those is always ‘oh hell no.’ hehe.)
I’m thinking more like piece to piece compare for ‘traditional mmos’. Like right now if you go into your inventory and say press compare on a pair of gloves, you could mouse over every single item in your inventory. This seems silly when I’m looking at gloves, it should just be comparing to gloves. Also in the same way, there is the ‘traditional’ ‘mouse over’ when you look at anything, so anything you are mousing over compares to the same spot, so you could go gloves, chest, legs, and it swaps the compare to just that. I get though that it was mentioned console doesn’t have ‘mouse over’, but I’m using gamepad on PC and I don’t see why it does things like compares my gloves to not gloves. ![]()
yeah sure, also rune slots, enchantments, u name it. but i miss this especially when comparing armor. i had 3 purple pants, all decent enchants, and also surprisingly fashionable. i think i “wasted” like 3 or 4 lvl of material to upgrade one pair, just to then notice, it has now more pure defense, but all my resistances are like 50 points lower compared to the other one. wish i would have known that before i upgraded it ![]()

Were they different ranks? I’ve noticed that physical resistance and elemental resistance seems opposite. So, Plate has the highest physical resistance, but like half the elemental resistance of cloth. (And vice versa, Cloth will have double the elemental of Plate.)
So it’s like…
Physical - 1 2 3 4
Elemental - 4 3 2 1
At this point, depending on my weight, I’m pretty much Mesh chest, leather pants, then cloth hat and gloves on my main. And for an alt which probably can’t go as heavy I’ll probably do cloth x 3, then leather x1, but they will be super dodgy and not be hit as often (hopefully).
I don’t think I noticed armor did this until a bit into Breach, so at that point I had played probably 250-300 hours, heh.
