Co-op Beta Feedback

So as the game is finally beeing co op ready and is absolutley beautiful, going in co-op release phase soon I have a few points to adress.

  • Researching weapons and armor blueprints should be unlocked for everyone on the realm (maybe it was a bug but when i researched/unlocked a blueprint for a random spear in my buddys research list it wasnt unlocked which feels more like a punishment rather than unlocking and progressing / working together).
Since its PvE there is no reason needing to double up there if that is actually intended and wasnt a bug

  • As some other people wrote aswell I think it would be neat to be able to visit every shop / vendor at the same time

  • Hearing the dialogue from some quest talk when you are not the one initiating the talk while your mate is getting the quest is already worked out well but I was thinking if there was an additional solution to also be able to “join” the ongoing dialogue and seeing the subtitles from your friend talking with an NPC (kind of like in Baldurs Gate 3 where one player can have an entire dialogue alone and you are able to join half way through or something)

  • When farming materials the indicator for a perfect hit shouldnt be red in my opinion the signal color doesnt feel right; maybe orange or yellow ?

  • I only played co op for a few hours today but we had like disconnects every 5 minutes at least and I had like constant +120 ping eventho we where on the “europe” server and had pretty good and stable connection outside the game but I guess this is what the play stress test is for and will be figured out till the co op launch on january

  • Dropping items on the ground so the other one can pick them up, I know there is the trading option which is absolutley necessary when you have a few more items to give / trade but its time consuming in the long run when its only 1 item you wanna give your mate to check it out, beeing able to drop it on the ground and your mate can pick it up instantly would be a nice quality of life addition.

Thats my Feedback for now, might add some points later on if more comes to mind.
Nonetheless the game has come a long way compared to the early access release and its a joy to play in the world.

Edit; 12.01.26

  • Your owned Homes on the Mini-Map should be marked with another color, green or something. The little difference between the buyable houses and the once you own are barely visible… when I open the mini map I should instantly see where my homes are without zooming in.
  • Daily rewards and Bountys should give the rewards instantly withouts revisiting the bounty officer to collect it

100% agree on these. Hopefully a quick fix they can add for Jan 22 :folded_hands:

I disagree with the research for everyone on the world. If they did that it would be saved to the world, not your character so if you went play with other friends you wouldn’t have those crafts anymore.

On the same note, if you put in the work to hunt down paper, the other people you are playing with, (friends I assume, who else could you play with?) can just farm the materials and have you craft it at your next opportunity which makes the researcher feel good and useful and the crafter feel good for getting an item from their friends hard work!

Visiting all the vendors at once would reduce way to much friction in my opinion, the space that separates them isn’t disrespectful enough to your time to warrant smashing them together.

The farming indicator is red in the MP beta atm.

The disconnects were annoying but they seemed to come in waves that lasted for about 20 minutes for my group and I.

God YES! Let me drop items on the ground, PLEASE!

It seems a bit odd to me that the research affects you as a character, whereas it’s actually the vendors making the new items. So you’re really giving the vendors the knowledge.

Also, if you move your well researched character over to a new realm, your amount of research and vendor progression are completely disconnected. So your super knowledgeable character can still make practically nothing.

I honestly don’t think it’s worth a tonne of discussion since it’s not gonna make or break the experience, but to me it doesn’t make sense to have it character specific.

I see where you are coming from with crafting things for one another but in my experience those mechanics are only “cool” for the first few hours playing:

As you “share” the realm and anything in that world, sharing the blueprints aswell is a no brainer for me.
Its not like the moment you have it unlocked you have endless weapons of that type as everyone has to still farm the materials for it.

If you are able to find blueprints and papers to roll random ones and the devs think you might have unlocked everything to fast then maybe reduce the drop rate of blueprints and / or raise the amount of paper stacks you need for unlocking random rolls.

I played a lot of V-Rising (kind of different but at the same time many similarities) where there is a research table aswell and you share / progress all together.
There are more exciting moments when you find blueprints for weapons so you and your friends can start diving into getting the materials together as you now are able to share that drop with everyone.
You still need to farm the materials nonetheless.

Another point for me is that as you can play solo on your shared realm and do some progress for the group / town it feels nice to unlock stuff for the team when others are busy.
For me for example I am sometimes gone for ~7-8 days due to my job and then me having found some cool weapon or armor blueprints my friends want to play and have taken the time to farm up the materials but cant craft it and have to wait more than a week to me beeing back is more demotivating, annoying / unnecessary in the long run in my opinion.

All in all the blueprints not beeing shared and everyone having to farm it for themselves (yes you can ask your friends to craft things and give them the materials) feels more like a time consuming gatekeeping mechanic in my opinion rather than progressing in more relevant parts of the game as there is enough to unlock / farm / build, if that makes sense.

Thats my 2 cents on the blueprints as it would make more sense but as @balrogslayer said, its one of those quality of life decisions the devs have to make.

For the vendor / shops I might have worded it wrong. I meant that not the shops should be all in one but that it would be great that we as players are able to visit the shop of 1 vendor at the same time and not wait for the other player to be finished with his turn at the blacksmith for example.

For the farming indicator beeing red I figured that out but as I had the tool tipps turned off from my game settings it was irritating on the first glance when the entire bar is green and you have to lock in at the red bar as its human behaviour to see red as a warning color so maybe swap the colors on the farming bar.

Sorry for the long texts as I try to explain my thought process so everyone can understand my idea behind it.

Yeah I totally agree that the researches should be part of the realm and not the character.
