Character readability

I sometimes struggle with platforming. It would be cool to just use one simple solution, just add an arrow under the character, which will point in the direction they’re looking at and the platforming will be waaay more comfortable. And also it would be easier to see your character during some serious combat. I’ve provided a quick sketch of what it could look like in game. And after some time if character is just standing without any moves it will fade away to provide more immersion. The arrow can be smaller and im sure your great art team can come up with something more visually pleasing than i did : )

wouldn you need that arrow especially if you didnt move? because you should know where your character is heading. because you are controlling him… im not at the pc right now but wouldn’t you be able to use the right stick of your controller to look into a certain direction? and so far i haven’t had many issues with platforming because input feels pretty much direct to me…

i’d say get a feel for the game, because I consider this arrow pretty much immersion breaking. is this some accessibility issue in gaming im not aware of? or just a git gud issue?^^

Use the mouse, let go of the wasd and hold shift, the char will run towards the mouse pointer and jump, its very precise once you get the hang of it.

im 99% sure theyre saying to have this for analog sticks on controllers, since its not as easy to tell where youre facing as aim-to-move

i think this type of thing would be decent as an accessibility option, but only if its less visually distracting

i was playing on the controller, but the platforming issue is exactly why i moved to K/M. so yeah rn i got no issues w it, but for the controller gaming i think the arrow option could be really usefull
