Certian runes do not proc lifesteal or "health on kill"

The Plague Splatter rune does not provide healing from the “ Gain X% Health on Kill” enchantment:

Enemies take visible damage, but there’s no healing. This is annoying when using rings that convert Focus consumption into Health

You can see me encountering the same issue in the Test Crucible run. I have 15% lifesteal from gems in my weapon and shield and when I kill a mob with splatter I only get around 60 hp back from “Gain health on kill” effects from weapon and gloves. I do not lifesteal any hp with splatter, while pestilence works fine. Both skills deal aprox the same damage and you can see how much hp I recover prom pestilence. Also, for whatever reason I loose hp after splatter cast animation, not before, as It usually happens with all the skills when I am using battlecry ring.

Thank you both for the attention to this matter! I’ve escalated this.

The Plague Smite rune does not restore health from lifesteal or lifesteal from plague
Example:

275 HP

I use the rune, but my HP isn’t restored:

The Lightning Slam rune never proc lifesteal with its dmg and its dmg numbers always being shown in small text as though it never crit despite me having 100% crit chance. There’s definitely something wrong going on with this rune.

With some further testing, I found out that the Skybreaker rune for bow has this exact same issue.

I’m trying to create a Tanky Plague Splatter build. Still putting this build together but I felt like I had the majority of the enchantments necessary to keep up with focus and health while playing. I have lifesteal on both my wand and my shield. I have life on fatality, focus on fatality, ring of calmness, two 10% focus gems, focus on infliction. Yet I plague splatter and decimate a room of enemies and I’ve barely gotten any focus back and my health bar goes up as they die but then afterwards that’s when it seems like my ring of determination takes the cost of the spell. Is it meant to give me lifesteal before the cost of the spell goes into effect? Is this a bug and if so is it being looked into? I feel like I’ve invested a lot into this build and it’s definitely going to leave me hanging for a while until I get essence embers again…

Also am I triggering a fatality with my plague splatter? I just had 46 focus, and one shot two enemies with a plague splatter. I gained 38 focus for the two kills. With the two 10% focus gain gems, a 19 focus gain on fatality, and a 14 focus on infliction. I also have a 60% elemental gem on my 14 focus armor. How do I only get 38 focus from the two one shots?

Also ring of calmness with 21% focus gain

I have not done any testing myself just yet, but did you also factor in your armor? Every piece of armor has a modifier to both stamina and focus gain listed as a percentage, from 0% to +/-22% or more based on the armor class and the item facet.

If I find any solid results in my own experiments I’ll let you know!

The Charged Bolt rune may be the most sought after item in the game, with people willing to pay up to 200 Fallen Embers to acquire it on the “wicked-trading” Discord thread.

Unfortunately, it has several major issues – the projectiles it fires only proc “Focus on Fatality” if enemies which are killed by the attack are adjacent to the player’s avatar. When the projectiles travel more than about one meter away from the player character, any enemies killed by the bolts will not proc Fatality buffs.

More serious, however, is that if a player is using the Plagued Ring to acquire lifesteal, Charged Bolt projectiles will never proc the lifesteal feature. This makes builds which use the Battlecry Ring or Ring of Determination items to spam Charged Bolt, a highly sought after build combination, essentially useless.

I strongly suspect this isn’t intended behavior, and a lot of people are going to be very disappointed when they cash out 50+ hours of ember farming to get a legendary rune which doesn’t work with their build – because of a bug.

Please look into this.
