Can't join realm after prologue

You are very sure you never played the prologue? You didn’t see the ship being ambushed by pirates, and then it crashes unto the shore cliffs?

LOL yes. Never played the prologue. Could only make it to that part I mentioned in my original post. When I was a child . . .

Game crashed every single time.

I appreciate looking into it! I know these kinds of bugs/ configurations can be frustrating to root through.

Correct, Only prologue is available. AFter getting thru the prologue, the game tries to cycle to loading realm but it hangs so we end up alt F4 to close out the application. When you go back in, it starts over at prologue. I have heard some people have a ‘skip prologue’ option but that doesn’t seem to be available anywhere we can see.

When creating a new realm, the only option is prologue mode.

This is a complete fresh install. Myself and my nephew have had the game for some time. No issues whatsoever. I gifted it thru steam to my son and we can’t seem to get it to work on his side. We would love to get him set up and going! I have scoured the internets for workarounds. it seems hit or miss on people having luck getting past it. I have had him go thru the prologue multiple times with different scenarios but no luck. This one is puzzling for me as well. I am debating having his sign in through my steam account and see if he can play on my PC or if it still is an issue.

  1. tried to go thru prologue and not skip ANYTHING for cut scenes or anything.
  2. Invite us to his realm. We can get in story mode. he cannot.
  3. Invite him to our realm. we can do story mode, he cannot.
  4. have him re-make his realm, not invite anyone, and try and get through. he cannot.
  5. have him try steam offline mode. no luck.
  6. insure that the properties on steam are not on the crucible legacy
  7. have steam do the verify integrity of game files.

“open your AccounSettings_LOCAL.dat file with Notepad, or Notepad++ for example and look through the file (hit Ctrl + F) for ProloguePlayedOnce
