I know the game was likely built around Temporal AA, but the ghosting I experience in-game is hard to unsee once you notice it. Also, not to mention the blur, which is admittedly not as bad in Wicked because of the fixed camera and overall slower pace of the game. Still, I do not like the possibility of having my entire screen blur due to TAA, even if the current implementation for Wicked is good at reducing it.
I simply want one or both of these items listed below:
- A way to turn off Anti-aliasing completely (Yes, I know jaggies and noise will likely be everywhere).
- Alternate Anti-Aliasing methods in the settings menu like CMAA, SMAA, FXAA, MSAA, etc.
From the debug menu of Ori and the Will of the Wisps, you guys at Moon got MSAA and FXAA working in Unity, and it looked great in that game on PC! Iām not a graphics programmer or engineer, and I know that Wicked is much more complex compared to Ori, but I hope we can get similar Anti-Aliasing in Wicked or just a non-temporal AA solution for better motion and visual clarity. In turn, we can appreciate even more of the incredible art of the game!
(I wanted to include some video of the ghosting here in this post, but the files were too big sorry)
