Any tips for countering shield enemy in the Crucible?

I have dual dagger build any tips on how to take out shield enemies especially when they are not alone.

With daggers the shield guys can easily be killed by parrying their attack and then going behind them for the backstab animation. Parry > Roll behind > Backstab.

But you also have a Katana equipped so I recommend using its innate Plague Swirl ability, it absolutely destroys them with ease since it staggers them.

Backstab for sure. If you bait out their long-range charge and roll with it, you can get behind them reliably. While you’re in the backstab animation, other enemies won’t be able to hit you.

Shield enemies are especially hard with double daggers, since they like to block the second dagger of each swing, even if you hit them from behind. I feel like that’s potentially a bug, but it is what it is at the moment.

Any rune recommendations for my katana and curved great sword?

Backstab for sure. It deals huge damage while being a lot less punishing than parry. Just roll until you got an opportunity to do it. Your stamina wont run out if you’re not abusing your dodge/roll.

Either backstab…or use what many dual dagger users don’t know about, and that’s the dual breaker rune.

Dual breaker is a shield break rune.

You’re welcome.

Yeah I don’t like them at all. Bait them into attacking you, then roll twice (assuming normal weight class) and punish. All throw runes are great but you mustn’t throw into their shields.

For the record, I have made a Fetid Club tank build and while he knocks them down by just having incredible poise damage they still pose enough of a problem that I have to bait them.

Sometimes it just easier to push them of the map or jump at them from above.
