I’m out farming a particular item and I know I need 10 (say for a building project or something). If I lose track of how many I’ve farmed, I gotta open up the inventory window. It would be a great QoL if when I pick up Iron Ore, it says I picked up 1 Iron Ore, then it shows me next to that my total 8 Iron Ore.
Ironically, there are those that hate seeing the “pick up” notifications and want them turned off.
Perhaps a better way to handle your need is to simply have a “tracking” feature akin to a simple quest item feature set?
Tweak the “quest tracking” (kill 0/3) to allow players to add their own nodes.
- Select item from your inventory, achievement list or crafting recipe to track.
- Put in the amount and it now stays on your screen until you remove it.
