This game has excellent HDR implementation, however there are quite a lot of static elements on screen which can be bad for long term health of monitors with risk of burn in. It would be nice if the UI elements like time of day/weather, HP/XP/Portrait, Dpad with food/items/weapons were able to fade while out of combat.
Games like Elden Ring have this option and I find that, while great for avoiding burn in, it also helps with immersion because your entire screen is just the art that the studio created. It also works as an indicator, as UI elements fade in when enemies aggro on the player.
It seems the “in combat/out of combat” state is already coded into the game via systems like hunger limit being tied to being in combat, so this might not be too big an ask as an additional feature.
And just to clarify; this should be a toggle option so players can decide to always have the static UI elements or have them fade out of combat so everyone is happy.
