Too hard to level up after lvl 18

Hello everyone, I am trying to level up but it’s extremely grindy, and Crucible does not give any XP, i am at level 20 right now. I manage to get to the last boss, but i cannot kill him, i don’t do enough damage and he has insane amounts of HP. I get to phase 2 but at that point he hits way too hard and the fight takes too long at my level.

I wanted to level up somewhere, but it’s very tedious and slow to just farm enemies like the South Park WoW episode… something should be done, Crucible not giving any XP is a very bad decision I think, as it’s the only lategame content right now, and since it’s an Early Access, all of these characters might just go away once the game releases, I don’t think it would be that bad if we could level up with the lategame content we have right now in EA, or just make challenges and bounties give a lot of XP instead.

Yep they’re aware, they just wanted to see how strong the Crucible makes us right now in its current version. The overworld will be fuller later on as EA progresses and they’re okay with changes. The main reason the Crucible levels us so fast while the overworld doesn’t is because the overworld is only at level 18 max, while the Crucible was 21-24. But as shown by the couple chests they’ve added to the Crucible vendor room things can change, I don’t think they will add XP back per kill in the Crucible though.

Upgrade your gear. It makes a big difference in your damage output and defenses.

I’ve consistently beat The Crucible with characters between 10 and 18. I’m having the hardest time with a greatsword build because I’m not used to the slow moveset, but I’ve pretty much beat all the game’s content with everything except for one handed hammers I think.

A few days ago I did a run with a greatshield with about 380 armor and a 2% health on block rune and EK was healing me with most attacks, I just had to dodge the ones that did too much plague damage.

If you need any tips or help, I can hop in the discord sometime this weekend.

In previous versions, the Crucible was available for experience and equipment, so many people didn’t have your experience.I’m more of a player who enjoys exploring the maps, so I got into the Crucible late, and I would recommend enjoying the game, completing the daily quests and weekly quest challenges, and before you know it you’ll be levelling up.

There are areas where some of the bosses that you have killed in the main story are located, and travelling there again will lead to new discoveries. There are also individual orange gears to pursue.

Of course, it’s better if you can acquire a few pieces of gear that boosts the experience value gained, and I have a few of those.

I did upgrade my gear as much as i can, now i’m stuck because i cannot find bear paws anymore.

It is definetly doable, even at level 1 with a bonk stick like in Elden Ring, but doesn’t mean that you should do it! I am not that good at this game honestly  It would mean doing a no hit run or very close to it, and that requires a lot of practice that i don’t have.

But ye feel free to add me on discord and i can bother you all the time with some questions: xmt_ronin on discord.

I have around 38 hours into the game, i did some dailies and bounties and whatever, but still getting levels is a chore, yesterday i went around killing random enemies on the beach and mariners keep and only got less than half XP required to level up, i just stopped after that, i can’t invest insane amounts of time into grinding mobs and doing dailies honestly, i think it’s a bit too much.
When i finished the main story i never did Crucible before this last patch, as i never was a fan of rogue lite mode, but since it’s the only late game content i decided to do it after this patch to check how they reworked it, got to final boss and saw that i was doing tickle damage even with good rolls on the crucible buffs, and in phase 2 got two shotted lol

As many other people I struggled to farm xp and loot with a new char. Since all I’ve seen is people recommending doing bounties and I’ve put this answer a few places already, here’s what I found:

There is a new boss accessible under a hatch in the prison of the nameless pass (northeast corner) along with 2 big chests. You kill it for roughly 1000+ xp and loot the chests. You quit to main menu and log back in. Boss respawns 60-70% of the time. Easy and quick XP and loot farm.

what you can do is clear a region, then take a bounty for that region, which respawns enemies.

let me know if that works, i just figured it out myself and don’t know if its guaranteed. it might also work for a second bounty in the same region

EDIT: Enemies in genreal seem to respawn pretty fast, some chests as well, cou8ld also be that bounties stack, but i dunno what’s happening rn

Went to add you and it said you’re not accepting requests lol.

Bear paws are a bit of an issue. I’ve only been able to get them by checking the random merchant on multiple realms. Luckily I had several left over from the previous Crucible that dropped them. But yeah, that’s a roadbump for sure.

When I upgraded, it was more about gathering resources and building stores and my own home, I would clear the entire map just to get more resources, and at that point I was forced to destroy all the enemies and just unconsciously upgraded.

I don’t know your specific situation, but it’s probably harder to get weaponry after this version update than it was in previous versions. The main thing is that the Crucible no longer produces tons of gear, especially LV3 gear.My current gear is basically generated by the Crucible, as was the case for many early players who gained experience points and gear while challenging the Crucible and naturally upgraded to the 30LV cap.

I can only advise you to upgrade your equipment as much as you can, use the enchantment function, use the gem setting function, everything that can enhance the quality and attributes of your equipment, and with a little luck, you’ll get a few pieces of equipment with increased experience value because of the enchantment.

Doing the weekly quests gives a lot of xp. I have ten realms to use for leveling up.
