Stuck in dialogue

I am a xbox 360 controller user.
Most of the dialog boxes, after being closed, will prevent my character from moving freely, and will only be allowed to move certain direction, unless i stop inputing movement. That will reset the situation and allow me to move freely again.

Upon talking to a random guard I have been locked in a dialogue cutscene but nothing happens. I can’t move or do anything. Just sitting stuck like in the picture below.

Just come across the same issue, tried talking to a NPC but it’s like she couldn’t get into the right position or something so we’re both just stuck here forever. Quitting to the menu worked but yeah, slightly annoying.

as a quick fix: loading realm from a previous save should fix this. or respawning from last whisper through the main menu.

i am wondering is this is similar to getting stuck in the food or open chest animation? like maybe holding a button or spamming a button caused the char in weird and rare cases to get stuck in the most recent action?

Stuck in consume food animation

yesterday i got stuck in the consume food animation. i ate my soup, and while my character was in the eating animation, i pressed and held “up” to change food item. i think i was too fast for the game, because when i finished changing the food item, my character still had the hand up, ready to eat. i could not do anything else. no attacks, no rolls, no running etc. also my characters view was fixed, i could not turn around etc.

Picking up item softlock

Was at the end of my crucible run when I tried to pick up a consumable from the ground and my character just got stuck in a crouching animation. Forever. I can still access the menu normally and all, but quitting to main menu on a crucible run ends the run and it’s pretty frustrating (I dislike this change tbh, we should be able to continue our run if we have to quit out). Stuck after chest disappeared

I opened a chest in Mariner’s keep right after entering the area from Orban Glades and midway through looting it, it disappeared, I was in the loot window, I could see the loot but couldn’t pick it up and when I exited to interact with it again, I saw that it vanished and my character was stuck in the searching animation: [image] I can only press the map button and then press Start to exit the game. My character is stuck otherwise.

Stuck in dialogue chat with Luka. Input to proceed in chat has no response.

i have a similar issue.

just interacted with a npc and now i am stuck in this screen as seen from the screen shot.

In the Sacrament, this dialogue part with Luka has no out.
Only go to main menu/OS

While they’re building something at the Mountain Gate, you can talk to Speaker Termina. He has just two lines of dialogue, issue is you can’t exit:

Pressing Space or A does register (you can see the icon at the bottom of the screen moving) but the dialogue won’t leave.

To exit, you have to quit to main menu.

I have reproduced this multiple times, by simply going back to talk to him.

Steps to repro:

1. Go to Mountain Gate after killing the Twins but before whatever they’re doing is done.
2. Talk to Speaker Termina
3. Don’t enjoy the blissful termination of his dialogue

Okay, something weird happened.

After I was done writing this report, I went back to the game. The dialogue did terminate, this time.

I have tried 3 times to terminate the dialogue before and couldn’t. So it may be that you need to wait for a long time? Or Alt-Tab and come back..?

There’s definitely something odd going on with that dialogue.

Now his line is different.

If a bug is triggered widely there’s usually no good reason for logs.

I think it’s alt tab (I’ve also had this happened with her), but there is definitely something faulty there.
