Right Mouse Button Parry Binding Doesn't Work as Expected on PC

Hi, could you please fix the issue where binding the right mouse button to Parry doesn’t actually perform a parry?

Currently on PC, if you bind Parry to the right mouse button, pressing it triggers a Counterattack instead. Strangely enough, pressing Left Shift performs the parry, even though it isn’t bound to that action.

This behavior seems very odd and feels like a bug. Thanks!

Cant Reproduce this on my side, could you share you setting?

Are you using “Mouse and WASD” movement or one of the other Options?

yes i 've configured Mouse and WASD, then i wanted to put right button mouse for PARRY, but when i click it , it doesnt parry.

How can i provide further help ?

RightClickParry

Can you share your complete Settings?
as you see works without a problem on my side

Mate. You think its working but its not. Like i told before you are pressing LEFT SHIFT to parry.
But i don’t want to parry with LEFT SHIFT. I binded PARRY to RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON.
In your video like me, if you press left shift you parry but if you press Right Mouse Button you are doing a counterattack and not parrying. The animation you are looking with right mouse is Counterattack.

Hmm, i guess you dont getting what is a parry and what is blocking then.

Pressing Left, Raises My Shield till i realse it. Pressing Right Mouse Button on a incoming attack Parrys then if time correctly.

So your “counterattack” is the parry…

verb: parry; 3rd person present: parries; past tense: parried; past participle: parried; gerund or present participle: parrying

  1. ward off (a weapon or attack) with a countermove.

“he parried the blow by holding his sword vertically”

let me explain please, I know exactly what parry means even if I didn’t phrase it perfectly the first time. In most games, a parry is a timed block that nullifies or deflects incoming damage. Actually, the parry mechanic works exactly like that: if you use the parry button instead of blocking with the shield, your character not only deflects the incoming attack but also immediately responds with a move that staggers the enemy. That feels a lot more like a timed deflection with a countermove than just a simple block. So yeah, sounds like the dictionary got it right especially doesn’t mean “always,” but in this case, it absolutely applies. What I’m trying to say is: have you noticed that Left Shift isn’t actually rebindable? And that’s the core of my request.

As a PC player, I don’t like using Left Shift for BLOCKING (the animation where the shield is raised to block attacks) because that key it’s commonly used for sprinting and feels uncomfortable. What I’d like is the ability to bind Block to a different key, like the Right Mouse Button. That way I can use RMB for block, and assign Parry to something else or the other way around, depending on preference.

that’s why I called it a counterattack. Because unlike a normal parry that just blocks, this one punishes the attacker. It’s more like a “riposte” than a pure block.

So yeah, I’m not confused about the mechanics I’m just saying the binding system needs to support this properly. Hope that makes sense!

Still cant see your issue then cause you can just rebind it…

Thanks to your video, it all makes sense nowmuch appreciated. The thing is, the Italian translation is a bit confusing. When it says “use offhand,” the version I have doesn’t make it clear at all that holding the button activates the passive block. It sounded more like you were just using something in your offhand like a weapon or tool rather than blocking with it. Now that I’ve seen what you meant, I understand where the confusion came from.
