Reviving in Hardcore mode

Heey!

Me and my friends believe we should be able to revive in Hardcore mode. Why?

We really love the thrill, and the need to optimize our builds to lessen the chance to die. And we feel like this could easily be our favorite mode to play. But the moment 1 friend dies, its pretty much over for everyone else.

We think it would enhance the experience if we would be able to revive in Hardcore, with the same system as is in normal realms. But maybe with an added timer. We think it could actually lead to more interesting, critical, and unforgetable moments.

If a friend downs, its all or nothing. Either you all try your best with beating hearts to get him up, or you know the game is over. We think it might add to the hardcore experience, and prevent the ‘all of a sudden everything is over’ moment.

We love the game, and keep up the great work!

Why play hardcore if you want to revive? It makes no sense.

I think you mis understand me, because of my lack of explenation. Im sorry for that! I will try to give you a better picture of my idea.

Im more talking about some sort of a ‘downed state’. A moment of time where your team mate lies on the ground, bleeding out, where you get about a minute of time to get him up. And to get him up, you have to pay with your own health, like in the normal realms, so that it is not risk free. And when this timer runs out and you do not succeed to get him up in time, the person is perma dead.

It just gives your party a tiny window to alter the sudden end of your hardcore Journey. And it will create a small moment where improvisation and tactic is needed, to save your game from perma death.

It stays hardcore. It just gives a small window (30 sec - 1 min) to save your friend from a permadeath, while he is downed and bleeding out.

Still, it’s a no for me. That’s exactly the point of playing HC. You have to be careful and focus on stats like HP, defense, and resistances to avoid the situation you’re describing. What you’re asking for would make the challenge much easier.

In Diablo 3, the monk had a survivability passive (basically a second life). Later, similar passives were added to every class, and that made HC significantly easier. One mistake is supposed to cost you your character.

And honestly, why not just play Softcore? I played HC in D2 for 15 years and it was fun. But now I don’t have the time to rebuild characters anymore, and dying like that wouldn’t be enjoyable for me. So I stopped and just enjoy SC.

Trust me or not, any form of a second chance will have a huge impact on playstyle and builds.

I fully believe it would make an impact on builds and playstyle.

But yeah, because your team mates have to work for it within a certain time limit in the thick of battle, and it will cost health to get someone up, i really dont think the impact will be that big.

And why not softcore you ask, because perma death is not a thing there, and thus the fights will never feel as exciting as in Hardcore.

Just because there would be a tiny window to get your mate up, does not mean it will happen. There still is something on the line. And permadeath would still verry much be a threat. The boss or mobs need to be kited away or killed, and that requires teamwork. Its still verry easy to make a mistake so that its all over.

To each there own, but for us it would really enhance our game experience for our 4 man squad.

Thanks for replying mate!
