Reliable Facet Still Able to Crit

Wasn’t sure if this should be under feedback or bugs. I have a crit build that was using a reliable weapon until I could find/craft the sharp version. I noticed that even though the weapon has a 0% chance to crit, because of my crit chance enchantments, it was still criting. Based on the description of reliable, I thought we were getting more damage and poise damage in exchange for being unable to crit - i.e. attack damage is constant rather than spikey. So I am left wondering if reliable should be able to crit at all.

This is true. It is currently possible to get 100% crit rate on a reliable weapon. I just confirmed it with my crit build, and I have 100% crits on a reliable weapon.

I guess that still means the damage is constant, right? :upside_down_face:

then it just works as a -X% Crit Chance based on the weapon. i think that makes more sense considering what a huge impact crits have on damage. nulling crit chance completely would be too much of a trade-off IMO but haven’t run any builds with “reliable” weapons AND substituting crit for smth else.

I use reliable in stagger builds for more predictability. Lets me plan out multiple kills or stagger without crits killing stuff prematurely. Basically using physical damage usually rather than crit.

Yeah, it appears to only change the base crit chance on the weapon. Most 1h weapons I see have 10% crit by default, 20% if it’s razor/keen or 0% if it’s reliable. 2h either have 20% or 25% base, which is +10% if razor/keen or just zero if reliable. It seems to be a simple additive with crit enchants.

By any chance the crit was proc-ed from crit chance in armor? Would the issue be the same if all armors do not have crit chance enchantment?

Thanks for this answer.

Also, apologies for skimming the content through quick.

It was already one of the best facets, but it makes especially good on high crit damage weapons since you only lose 10% crit rate.

I’m also not sure if it’s intended, but I like it

Before I forget to mention, I have escalated this.
