I have a friend who played during the free weekend and bought a house in the realm, But has no intention of picking up the game, so the house is essentially soft locked. I’m wondering if the housing is by player token or is it bound to that specific character? So if i add someone to take the place of the person who left will the game consider them the owner because they are in that players spot or does that specific friend own it?

Have you tried kicking the friend out of the realm and if the house then is available to buy?You can do that by going to the invite window, go to the friend and choose remove

Yeah, we tried that it still says belongs to another player. We also tried inviting another friend to see if they would take over ownership but it seems the original player is the one true owner.

So had a buddy playing with me on a realm and while he was playing he bought a house. Well needless to say he decided to stop playing and so the group decided to kick him. Unfortunately once we kicked him he still owned the house and no one else could buy it. Luckily he was cool enough to log back in and sell it back. Just wondering what a group is supposed to do if a player isn’t as cool about it as my buddy. Should the realm administrators be able to override the sell of the house? Just it brought up an interesting situation and wanted to see Moon Studios take on it. Maybe realm administrators should be able to override sell of house? Even then that could open another can of worms. Regardless thanks for your all your hard work.

This just happened to me after the server issue last night. I was removed from my friend’s realm, but I was the owner of the house. Now, even though I’m back in the realm, neither of us are the owner and I can’t enter at all because it’s set to “private”.
My friend can enter, but that’s it. he can’t do anything about the softlock.
Just adding this because it is a case where the owner of the house (me) has come back to the server, only to not own the house.

Still locked out of my house. I also do not see the devs even talking about this issue. They seemed focused on the missing servers (which i also have a few of those), but do they even know about the housing issue? Are they intending to restore access? Or should we just delete that server?

Hi Wolf,
Sorry for the silence. Right now Moon is working hard on literally all problems that arose from the Together launch!
They are however out of the hotfix phase (they released 7 in quick succession) but instead are now pooling every fix and adjustment into the next patch, which will come in a few weeks. Same as the server problems and anything else that is new since Together.
Let me set up an inquiry to hear if Steve/Kris has anything to say on this subject.
