I see, thanks for the reply. I’ll wait fot a hotfix ![]()
This is affecting my game as well. I haven’t had any pestilence zones occur naturally (outside of the first one that spawns when you return to the Watcher after the quest with the winged brood bosses) since the co-op update.
I am also having this issue with my realm that was made the first day of the together update. Even after all of the hotfixes i still haven’t had any infection zones spawn after the first one after speaking with the Watcher. I’m starting a new realm today to see if it is only effecting realms made before to hotfixes were put in place
I am having the exact same issue with 2 of my reals I have unlocked pestilence on. Since the update to reduce the timer or something no more spawns ![]()
Same as others… 2 realms with no pestilence outbreaks, the only way i can do it is if i waste resources to have it spawn
I have tested both creating a new offline world and a new online world and the bug persists on both. I don’t know if it’s related, but there are also some resource nodes (ore veins, dig sites, etc) that do not refresh. They remain depleted forever.
same bug here, and i have nothing to burn
So i was wondering if something has changed because for almost a week now i have a realm that didn’t have any Plague/Pestilence zones, which is annoying because i want to update my gear and i can’t because i need torn sinew in order to upgrade my gear. I think this happend after the latest 2 updates.
You can burn any material ![]()

thanks,i totally understand
This has happened to me too. Wondering if it’s a bug or if maybe I just haven’t done something correctly. Here’s what I’ve done in the last few days to hopefully progress the world state and trigger them to spawn (no luck so far)
- I beat the campaign, and did the one plagued zone it spawns as a tutorial, then no more spawned after.
- I waited a few days, leveled a few times, let the world state change, completed my bounties, etc.
- Bought the Crucible upgrade related to cleansing the world
- Talked to Roan and the Master quite a few times - quest state still just says “Roan has asked us to venture into the plagued outbreaks and bring any Torn materials…”
Edit: Solution in the comments. Plagued zones aren’t auto-starting, they require manual triggering.
I’ve never seen a plague start on it’s own, what you can do to trigger it it’s to fill a bonfire with items as you would a whisper to unlock the teleport feature.
Doing this you can also decide how ‘‘hard’’ you want the plague to be.
Before the “Together” update it triggered automatically; now it requires sacrificing a few items to start.
Thank you! This worked. I didn’t realize that changed.
Part of it was, in my mind, the Cerim Whispers = “Bonfires” from Dark Souls. So any time someone says “do X at the campfire” I thought they were talking about sacrificing materials to the Whispers. So I unlocked them all instead of going to the cooking fires ![]()
So, a new one will not start automatically after a period of time?
I’m not sure about that, but I waited two days and it didn’t start automatically. So I tried this, and it worked.
Traveller, I indeed never saw one automatically start aside the very 1st one, since then I feed the bonfire when I am ready to start one, It can be done once a day. (24h)
This has been officialy recognized as bugged.
