I also recently encountered this. The body double is blocking the stairs to the chests. Prior to hotfix 6, even with the body double present, the stairs to the chests were still accessible.

As you can can see on the link bellow, no bombs effects, no dots, no element and not bleed/Physical damage has any effect on the boss.
