I can say millions of reasons but the biggest one is knives are weakest meeles in the game and its easier to modify them into off-hand instead balancing kekw. Jokes aside after 80ish hours of pure bow gameplay it feels like bow needs some meele off-hand option and knifes are perfect match.

Have you ever tried Hunter’s Axe? xD
I used the knives and they can be fun But KNIFE Movesets can be Improved.
If the devs follow the advice I gave in the topic then I think many more people would use them.
Also It would be enough to add some new knives which are off-hand, there is no need to remove the current ones.

I tried axes in general but I dont like them that much as a weapon scimitar is my one and only go-to for meeles for me now xd
Kunaiiii what a brilliant idea but I believe it deserves main hand cuz it might be absurd using ranged/throw off-hand at the same time with bow idk
