The official spreadsheet of enchantments shows that elemental enchantments are a thing, but I have yet to see them on any new gear drops. I only have the enchantments on pre-together items. I’ve even dumped embers in to gear and never got an elemental infusion. Is this really still a thing or is the only way to infuse a weapon with an element through a gem? What’s the point of the rarer gems increasing lightning damage for example? Is the idea they only apply to masterwork items since those can have both an elemental gem and the increased damage gem?
Can you please link which spreadsheet you are talking about?

I think infusions are no longer Enchantments and only appear as Facets.

I missed also that you can infuse via gems. So it’s facets, gems, and the consumables.
