Hi there,
My name’s Matt and after playing NRFTW for 18hours now I finally wanted to share my feedback.
While I was playing I tried to record my feedback as much as possible whenever there was something I didn’t understand, or that bugged me, or if I had an idea for an improvement. I usually made a quick 1-2min video so they don’t get too long. A lot of times it’s just me thinking out loud but I hope it helps you nevertheless to at least get a grasp of what someone like me might misinterpret.
Also since the EA already started a week ago I guess some of the feedback might be outdated.

Quick Summary of my time with NRFTW so far:
- I really enjoyed it, like a LOT.
- As a diablo2 and souls fan, I would say the game currently is 90% souls. I don’t think that’s a bad thing but I am certainly hoping there will be some diablo2 vibes down the line. I would love if you have at some point some dungeons where you can kind of kill a lot of mobs more in the ARPG style just because you got a way higher power level. So my point being, I would want to see dungeons that are of lower difficulty but there are just many many mobs in there.
- That said, I do not really care about itemization so far. I mean that in the sense of an ARPG and the cool stats items usually. The way the game presents these things is just more soulsy and at the moment currently feels rather uninmportant to me.
- I absolutely love the level design. As a level designer myself I really found it to be very smart and fun. Exploring NRFTW was probably the most fun part of the game for me.
- Speaking of level design I feel like the design/layout of Sacrament compared to the rest however feels odd to me in the sense that I sometimes spent a lot of time just running around in there getting from A to B just because of it’s layout regarding the handlers, the rookery, etc. Especially the early game for me really felt like “oh man I just wanna get out of that fricking town and explore the world, instead of losing myself in the town”
- I am not a fan of the huge long armed character design. It’s nothing that is very important to me but it sometimes contradicts with the dark/grim mood of the game in a funny way and therefore kind of breaks my “immersion” so to speak.
- I do think the building systems of the game are exciting and it’s nice that they are present in such a game, however as someone who rarely plays survival/building games I gotta say you didn’t convince me yet of those systems being there. I hope this will come with later patches especially when it comes to multiplayer.
Now I could go on and on but I think I let the rest of my video feedback speak for itself!
Congratulations again to the whole team, you really did an amazing job. Wish you all the best of luck.
