When I have a bunch of consumables and I try to deposit them into a “Large Noble Cupboard” using “Deposit Similar” automatic feature then all items are deposited except for one, even though there is a similar item in the cupboard.
Can be reproduced every time, but I only tried it with the “Large Noble Cupboard”
Speaking of, another bug is that the “Large Noble Cupboard” is missing the name in the UI as shown in the attached screenshot.
Contact me if you need more details to reproduce the bug.
Only with potions. For food items it never happened. The cupboard contains only potions, no food items, maybe it’s a prerequisite for the bug to reproduce?
EDIT: it’s interesting, because if I take items from the cupboard and then use “deposit similar”, it works, but I noticed the bug occuring on multiple occasions whenever I storage my inventory. Let me figure it out, I’ll come back.
I reproduced the bug but I couldn’t figure out the steps, I recorded the bug occurring, and dumped all the log files I could find, including the save file. Maybe the team can figure it out.
In the video I did my routine when I am depositing stuff, after filling my inventory from the world, I started recording after teleporting with the “Return” rune. It’s clear that whatever I am doing in my routine is triggering the bug for the “Deposit Similar” feature. Again, I only noticed it happening for Consumables (not Food). You will notice that I am first depositing “Resources” then “Food”, and then when I reach the “Consumables” stash and I “Deposit Similar”, the bug occurs.
Let me know when you downloaded the video as I would like to clean it up from the account cause it’s ~200Mb.
I reproduced again, it looks to me that the prerequisite to reproduce the bug is to have consumables in the inventory from the World (more than one maybe), then the Deposit Similar feature won’t work for Consumables.
I realised that the bug happens for whatever consumable is selected in the loadout when you go inside the house. You can notice that the consumable that was selected prior to going inside the house becomes empty and you can’t use it or cycle through consumables while inside house (which is another bug), and that is the exact consumable that is not being moved with “Deposit Similar”.
Therefore, simple steps to reproduce:
Take 1 consumable from the stack in the storage → exit house → select the consumable in your loadout → enter house → deposit similar wont’t work
I also run in to this issue everytime.
The reason when in the house it becomes empty is as follows:
Next to the item you cannot deposit, put a placeble object for you house in your inventory like a chest.
When I am in my house the chest is in the consumable slot in the UI.
When I walk out of the house it changes to whatever consumble I am unable to deposit.
So I think the game is holding on to 2 active consumable items, that get blocked when trying to put it into the chest.
Similar to the food stack that you have active in the food slot, that you cannot move to the chest with deposit similar. Since the game thinks you would want to keep it since its in your food slot.
You can somewhat negate this issue if there is a consumable you always prefer to have.
Like put a stack of 10 repair dust in the slot, then it will always move everything else.
Since if you have nothing there is will just place some item there when you pick things up ingame.
Yes, this bug is linked to the fact that the consumable slot is reused for selecting decorations while inside the house.
Your workaround is what I’ve been doing, as well. As long as I have selected priod to going inside the house the consumable that I don’t want deposited anyway, then it’s fine.
Honestly instead of reusing that slot I would implement an editing mode for the house, this way you get rid of the “press to pick up” messages that spam you inside the house as well.
You can disable that text in the settings, but I find them useful to spot pickables in the open world.
