When I enter the menu, it doesn’t allow me to select anything for the offering, and I am unable to back out of the menu, requiring me to close the game. There seems to be different levels of this, where I can’t move or select anything at all, and the 2nd time it came up it allowed me to move to my different inventory types, but would not allow me to select anything for offer.
The last item that was selected in my inventory was also still up on the screen. (this may be related to a slight “bug” I’ve seen between menu changes, where I access a sawmill or forge, and the information from the last item that was highlighted in my inventory shows up over the first item in the new selection screen)
A workaround that usually works for me is to click on the map button. It resets the hardlock somewhat and then you can feed the offerings without issues after.
I normally use a Controller and that’s the Select button (for old folk like me) Middle left button on the controller.
For what it’s worth, I am playing the live version of the game and have run into this bug a few times now. I defer to the experts here, but a few observations that may help to narrow things down:
In both instances, both were “satellite” whispers (i.e., not the main zone whispers).
The first was near the starting beach area, though I can’t remember which. I don’t think it was the Sand tower, but could be mistaken.
The second was in the Black Marsh sewer.
In both instances, the bug occurred on my first visit to the whisper.
In both instances, the menu behaved normally until I clicked the “Make offering” button.
When the “Make Offering” window is open, my inventory opens and the slots appear at the top of the screen, but the menus don’t appear to react as my highlighted item moves around the screen.
I noticed that, if I can can navigate to the item to be offered, I can select it and, although I can’‘t see what I am hovering over with the gamepad, my quantity does tick down for each button press.
Interestingly, offering the last item in a stack (i.e., going from one to none) causes the quantity number to change to a “0” rather than removing the “now empty” stack from my inventory. I did not attempt trying to make it go negative, but would be interested if others can reproduce that.
On the second occasion, I was able to navigate to the “Make Offering” button that appears when your inventory is onscreen (not the “Make Offering” button in the normal Whisper dialogue/menu - the one that appears after your inventory is open). Hitting “Make Offering” played the noise and caused the whisper to react in the background (got brighter for a moment?).
In both instances, there was no combination of buttons or keystrokes that I could use to close the window. I also tried resetting the graphics driver (ctrl+win+shift+B) to see if that could “unstick” things in case it was an overlay problem, but the menu does seem to be live (inference based on the offering menu half-working)
Shot in the dark here, but I think there may be a line of code or function that closes the Whisper UI window under a certain set of conditions. For whatever reason, that line/function is either getting called and failing, or getting bypassed altogether under specific circumstances.
It seems possible to me that there could just be a logic issue, though it also seems feasible that there is some kind of competing condition/function that gets interrupted when a player interacts with the whisper for the first time and immediately navigates to the offering menu (maybe unsettled momentum from the player character at the point of interaction?).
Last theory is that there is some kind of memory overflow that causes the game to bork under certain situations, which I would think could be visible / verifiable as a system log, but someone much smarter than me would need to weigh in on that.
It’s happened to me several times; the most recent today in Iona’s cavern. It’s always the same for me. As soon as I click Make an Offering, the inventory UI comes up and seems to hang. Then after about 10-20 seconds I can move between the tabs but nothing responds with I click or use the controller to access an inventory item.
If I wait for about 3-5 min, I can add items, but the make the offering modal does not appear. I have to use my mouse to click the make an offering button at the bottom.
I think it occurs because with the offering screen I tabbed out to another window and when I tab back I can move through my inventory but not actually select anything or back out of the offering.
About every second time I open the whisper offering UI I get stuck. Controller is completely blocked, until I use mouse. This makes controller usable again, I can pick items to offer, increase the count, but applying the offer wont appear in the top row nor count towards the total amount of offers required.
Once I exit the ingredient popup controller again want work. Rinse and repeat.
Same thing happens to me. Stuck in whisper and cannot get out. Controls from controller and keyboard unresponsive. Have to control alt delete to leave.
Buenas, Cerims espero todos esten bastante poderosos como deberiamos en este hermoso juego. Vengo a reportar un bug que es algo molesto, hasta llegar al punto de tener que reiniciar el juego. Se encuentra en los susurros, o almenos me ha pasado ya 2 veces, al intentar dar ofrendas a un susurro, este menu se queda bugeado, es como si se combinaran, el menu del inventanrio, con el interfaz de las ofrendas y el de los spells, y asi no deja interactuar con nada, sin dar la posibilidad de cerrarlo, forzosamente toca un alt+f4. Espero si se comprenda, de igual forma cuando vuelva a suceder, subo la captura. Muchas gracias y feliz cacería.

It happens in the whispers—or at least it has already happened to me twice—when trying to offer tributes to a whisper. The menu gets bugged: it’s as if the inventory menu combines with the offerings interface and the spells interface, and then you can’t interact with anything, with no way to close it. You’re forced to use alt+f4. I hope this is understandable. Anyway, when it happens again, I’ll upload a screenshot. Thank you very much and happy hunting.”
Wanted to report bug when I approached new whisper and the first thing I did was attempt to unlock whisper by donating resources my Controller seemed to not have inputs, buttons pressed and nothing happens in game, I touch mouse and keyboard and can move cursors around, select items resources to donate but it appears nothing donates.
At that point game is frozen in that screen, the ESC key doesn’t take me out, i switch back and forth between controller keyboard inputs but am frozen on the whisper donate materials screen.
I had to use windows key and close game from Steam. This did happen twice but I didn’t get video and had not joined this feedback site yet, sorry. I am not sure yet how to capture videos on PC. Both times it seemed to happen when I opened the whisper and instantly selected donate/unlock whisper. I seemed to get around issue when I logged back in my save state was at the whisper I approached slowly, used top option once, then waited and then donated resources to unlock.
Hope it is helpful, I am absolutely in love with this game and have played 36 hrs in like 4 days (yikes) lol. Thank you all and hopefully my other feedback is positives, also this has been my only bug in 36 hrs playtime so that’s awesome. Great work Moon Studios
Yeah, that has happened twice to me as well, so far - had to ALT+F4 to get out of the game and restart it
Didn’t happen on a dozen other occasions when unlocking the Whisper worked fine.
Vague suspicion that mixing controller and KB/Mouse input causes this hang-up - but not sure - when I tried to reproduce the issue, so far, the menu worked fine.
Just reporting that I got stuck at the same menu in the Black Trench - The Depths whisper while doing the offerings. Can’t exit the menu with either controller or keyboard. I had to stop/start the game, then everything worked.
Today we were playing with 3 people in a realm. 2 from the Netherlands and my cousin in New Zealand. In Netherlands we have like 10~20ms ping to server, and my cousin has around 300ms. When I play with my cousin and he joins a server first its the other way around.
So 3x we had issues where me and my cousin from New Zealand clicked “Make an offering” somewhat at the same time.
The first time he was adding items to for offering, however I also got into the offering dialog. Then I was unable to do anything in the game, I could not click anything and could not go to menu to leave the game. Only option was to ALT+F4 the game to get out of it.
The second time it seems we also got both into the offering menu, where I 100% the offering, and my cousin also added items to about 80%, afterwards we ended up with a unlocked whisp with another 80% bar on it

Then again at another whisp, we again clicked at same time and both got into the offer screen, however this time he was able to exit out without offering, and I was able to offer normally. (But you normally should not be able to get into the same dialog with 2 people).
All these 3 issues happened in a span of 4hrs in a single game
We play more together but this time we were both trying to fill the whisps every time we found one.
I don’t really know how to reproduce this bug but this has happened to me a few times, I don’t really know how it happens but the second I get to the last tab of my inventory when looking it through offering options, the game just becomes unresponsive, it gets some input but nothing really goes through and there’s no way to quit that screen to go back to the game, gotta force the game to close.
I use a controller, and to solve this i first have to switch over to my keyboard and mouse.
How you usually get this solved is that you first add something that you want to sacrifice, The thing you add will not show up in the sacrifice bar at the top but it will count the item you have selected which can be seen on the item in your inventory and after you have added something you just move your mouse up on the sacrifice bar and move it along the bar to the right and then move it down and press “make the offering” a few times.
You can try switching between kbm to controller to kbm right before pressing “make the offering”
