As much as I get that it doesn’t make sense considering we have 3 mainhands yet we don’t sheathe them, they just disappear when switching. So why not just let us “sheathe” just 1 more weapon and use fists with a keybind or button combo on controller so this issue isn’t required and we can enjoy only running 2 weapons without the idea that we can’t decide not to check for a weapon we don’t have in a slot we unlocked.
This is like checking all your dresser drawers for a pair of socks even though you know you don’t have any. Why “check” or switch to fists if I don’t actually want to. Choices and options are always better than assumptions of playstyle and mindset.
It is early access, maybe something will be made out of it, maybe not… just wait.
And for the toggle issue, a small button in the inventory with “activate/deactivate slot” would do the trick.
This is so annoying, it’s really screwing up all my battles. I should never have upgraded weapon slots, now I constantly find myself attacking with nothing/fist, and you have to cycle through 2 empty slots before coming back to your weapon.
Why is this even in the game? Why not ignore empty slots while cycle through weapons? If someone would want to fight without a weapon, they would not equip a weapon.
Please at least make an option to ignore empty slots while cycle through weapons
I wish that whenever you leave an unlocked weapon/off-hand slot empty you would just cycle through equipped weapons and not go through the empty slot.
Say that you have unlocked all slots for your main hand and off-hand but you don’t use all of them but use just 2 instead. So when I’m equipped with the second weapon and want to cycle to my first i don’t have to go through the empty third slot just to get back to the first. I want to just cycle between the 2 weapon slots I have equipped
But didn’t seem to get much attention. Upgrading weapon slots literally destroyed my savefile, I keep accidentally hit right d-pad when healing, switching weapon to “nothing”, screwing up my fights
Agreed. It’s a huge problem that isn’t mentioned enough. And there should be a distinct option for equipping “unarmed” to a slot instead if a player wants to cycle to that.
Agreed, it feels like i’m being punished for unlocking something. I want the ability to use a third slot but I don’t always need access to it, I don’t want to swap to my bare knuckles mid fight.
I disagree. I have builds where I use a 2Hander with a bow or a torch on offhand, I cycle my main 2hander to an empty slot so I can use my torch to navigate through caves or use my bow to deal with ranged enemies.
They could add a toggle to skip empty slots, but you also could simply not unlock all 3 if you don’t intend to use them.
Or you could’ve just put a one hand weapon there as a backup when you want to use a bow or torch. At least you have means to defend yourself if necessary
Sometimes I unlock more weapon slots than I end up using. So if I cycle between two weapons, having 3rd weapon slot unlocked makes it one extra button press.
It would be nice if you could temporarily/permanently disable last two weapon/offhand slots.
Maybe by holding a button - like when skipping cut scene.
