It seems there’s a bug when I tried to pick the Stack of Tomes that I placed above the medium cupboard. The only thing I pick is the medium cupboard itself while the Stack of Tomes keeps floating without any command to pick the item. I have tried to relog in and nothing change (and yes, it’s my character, clipping below the Stack of Tomes as I tried to find the command to pick it up).
Certain items you place on top of other furniture you wont be able to pick up. And for some reason the stack of tomes can’t be picked from any spot.

That has happened me too but i managed to pick it up after i put down a Carved Throne Stool next to it which i went up on to collect the Vase but can probably use anything even the bed (this is only a quick fix if you really need to remove it)
indeed a thing that needs to get fixed ^^
BTW what do you think about my Chandelier? 
(yes i just need to put down a table and a Wine cabinet to collect it)

Hey,
Just did move some stuff over an other house and I cannot manage to grab some pot that we placed over some cupboards. Its just impossible to pick it up.
I ran into this issue earlier.
If you have a furniture item you can stand on, place it under/close to the plant then stand on the item. It should let you grab it.
Something with the plant being too high to trigger the option to grab it.

Hi there, I was moving a piece of furniture in my house. The picture shows the piece of furniture I moved to the right of my player. To the left is the seemingly permanent and unmovable floating vase. I walk right through it. The instrument a little further left in the screenshot was acting a little similar at first, though that I was able to pick up and move a little bit once I’d moved the dresser.
I added suggestion to this sort of last minute as thinking about how it would be nice if we didn’t have to fully pick up the item to move it once placed. Or if there would be a way to pick up both objects in the case of the chest I moved and the plant. Or if it isn’t possible, if there’s a way to ensure that the items on top of something are recognized first? The rug is a good example I think, as I had it under an anvil before I rearranged some stuff. Or, if it is something that’s programmed in, it appears to be bugged.
I hope this is helpful, though I am sorry I couldn’t provide the other items requested, as I am not near my desktop to upload the requested files.

I have had this issue - short term work around is to climb the cupboard and face the vase. You will get the option to pick it up if positioned correctly.
Ideally, we pickup all items atop of what we are picking up and anything we cannot hold goes in a baggie on the floor as per usual.

If you place a vase on top of a chest or table, you can’t remove it. You can remove the table or chest and it remains there. No collision on the object and no way to interact with it.
I have encountered this as well. It’s not a perfect fix, but if you replace the object it was on top of and climb onto it from the side, you can pick up the vase or books or whatever it is that’s floating there. You just have to be standing on the cupboard or table or whatever the vase is on.

I was moving furniture around in my house and when I was picking up items off of a table, I accidentally picked up the table and was not able to pick up the vase at all. No matter where I stand it doesn’t show a prompt to pick it up, yet when I try to place objects around it they show red as if its still there. Restarted game and computer just to make sure but it seems to be my permanently floating vase.

Place a table next to the vase, climb onto the table, pick up the vase.
