i’ve been reading some topics and people have mentioned how backstabs have been nerfed.
my take on this:
backstabs should always be rewarding and should be able to do more than once.
to accomplish this, NERF backstab damage so the damage is less BUT make it easier to perform. as long as the you’re facing the enemy’s back and are at point blank range, your attack will be upgraded to a backstab.
backstab damage can be multiplied in many ways such as:
- enemy is unaware/out of combat
- enemy is at full health or is healthy
this allows players to be rewarded for backstabbing AND is given a way to benefit from backstabbing bonuses in a drawn out fight with a boss. when a boss has performed a big move which exhausts them, an agile player can run up behind them for a quick backstab which is stronger than a basic attack but not as strong as a backstab against an unaware monster at full health.
