The character is periodically affected by an unknown effect. Its meter remains constant, and the effect can persist for an extended period. That’s not a status effect. That’s a “barrier”. In theory this is like a ‘shield’ in sci-fi kind of games, or like Path of Exile. A status effect is actually ‘below’ that area, and will show something on the left/below your character profile (fire, ice, etc.) ---

Thanks for the clarification. The color looks like frost, so I didn’t realize it could be a barrier. ---

Yeah that confused me at first too. I was like ‘what the crap is this effect line that won’t go away?!?!’ Then brain was like ‘wait, there’s no image on the side, maybe it’s something on the gear,’ and I remembered I’d recently added a barrier thing. 😃 ---

I think barrier might be a bit new, and still need some fleshing out. I hadn’t come across it before the experimental branch. ---
