Hi team,

When using keyboard + mouse for NRFTW, it seems that sending certain keyboard inputs (specifically holding down `SHIFT` and `CTRL` to have the character follow the mouse cursor, while repeatedly pressing `E`) will cause the game to crash; after a series of NREs which results in Unity to terminate the game.

```plaintext
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    at Moon.Forsaken.Effects.ToggleByHotkey.Update () [0x00000] in <00000000000000000000000000000000>:0
Unstable environment, too many exceptions, terminating build.
```

_This does not create a .dmp file under `/crashpad/reports/*`._

Initially thought it was related to the GFX / GPU, but after a series of testing, was able to isolate the cause to specific keyboard inputs.

The crash can be reproduced consistently in **Marin Village** , along the path from the patch of tomatoes to the patch of herbs next to Irmgard.

I’ve attached the following files in the Google drive [here](https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1CHv71KjGEodJm_cm2PalTMEBok1fw_iG):

- `ctrlshifte.mp4` (video of crash using `SHIFT`, `CTRL` and `E` only)
- `shiftwasd_ctrlshifte.mp4` (using `SHIFT`, `W` `A` `S` `D` and `E` initially, then `SHIFT`, `CTRL` and `E` which causes the crash)
- `DxDiag.txt`
- `Player.log` (containing logs from the shiftwasd video when it crashed)
- `Player-prev.log` (containing logs from the ctrlshifte video)

Was able to have another friend reproduce this on his setup by executing the same controls, and was able to confirm that there’s no crashes when using a controller (since it doesn’t have the same “cursor-following shortcuts”).

Let me know if I can provide additional information on this, and thanks for developing such a great game!

Interesting, I was sadly not able to reproduce this.

Could you add your Datastore (the entire folder) to that shared location as well?

I will send this towards Moon then 😉 .

Thanks for reporting this here z88!

Hey Silas,

Thanks for looking at this – I’ve uploaded a compressed archive of my existing DataStore on Google drive as well 🙏

`ctrl+shift+E` can occasionally cause conflicts if you are trying to use the shortcut inside a different application running in the background, because some of these are global hotkeys which several programs and system utilities could make use of.

So if you want you can always check shortcut conflicts with a program called:

“Microsoft PowerToys”

This is an interesting one, thank you for the report.
